Ideally I was looking to build the system around ATC SCM7 V3 speakers with the source being a Bluesound Node 2i. The challenge is trying to find a good mid-range amp. Lots of threads say these speakers need power and others say that some amps work well at 50W. I have got as far as Rega Brio R and Audiolab 6000a as possible options.

SCM 19 är den största stativhögtalaren i ATCs Entry-serie. Hon har ett varmt, detaljerat ljud med betoning på ett förföriskt mellanregister, det man framförallt får med den större lådan är att basen sträcker sig djupare. Byggkvaliten är mycket seriös, ATC tillverkar sina egna element.

Both are stand mount monitors of comparable size using somewhat exotic, high quality drivers. The primary difference between the two is that the Carbon 7 is ported while the SCM 19 is a sealed box design. I just find that I prefer the bigger enclosures you just get that little bit more out of them, I actually own and use an older pair of 7s in my second system, don't get me wrong they are excellent speakers, but if you have the money and there are no other issues that would rule them out I'd go for the 11s, well actually personally I'd go for the 19s, but you have to put that into the context ATC current, past and future owners - For me, a pair of SCM 50As as part of the main system, as well as C1C for centre channel and the new SCM 7s for rears, plus C4 sub. All fed by Marantz SR7008 AVR. I have a lot of respect for ATC for their no-nonsense approach to design and build, even if it is getting a bit old. In summary The SCM7 is the smallest of the entire ATC package but offers really much more than you would suspect. This profile sketch is more often hung on small speakers but the SCM7 really has something special. The sound of the SCM7 is very balanced and true to nature, perhaps unique.
